It is impossible to set up the anonymous stories viewing on Instagram itself – the view counter shows everyone who scrolled stories. However, you will be able to secretly view somebody’s profile via special services, apps and chat-bots.

Instagram removed the public 'last active' timestamp from most profile views years ago. But knowing when someone was last online on Instagram remains one of the most searched topics on the platform — and several methods still work in 2026. This guide covers all of them, with an honest assessment of what actually delivers reliable information.

Numerous tools available on the market may help with a wide variety of Instagram daily tasks, from the targeted search for potential subscribers to increasing opportunities for engagement and statistics collecting.

'Can you see who viewed your Instagram profile?' is one of the most searched questions about Instagram, and the answer has remained consistent for years despite endless claims to the contrary: no, you cannot see who has viewed your Instagram profile using any legitimate, reliable method. The demand for this information has created a sprawling ecosystem of apps, browser extensions, and services that claim to provide it — virtually all of which either fabricate data or violate platform terms in ways that provide unreliable information at best.

So, you want to know whether somebody is stalking you on Instagram. Instagram stalkers are usually those people who visit your profile but do not actually interact with your messages.

When someone hides their activity status on Instagram, they disappear from the platform's native activity indicators — no green dot, no 'Active X minutes ago' timestamp, nothing in the Direct inbox that reveals when they were last online. For anyone who relies on these signals to understand whether a specific person is available or active, the hidden status creates a genuine blind spot.
